Russian Import regulations

A person is allowed to import goods free-of-charge(except vehicles), if their total value doesn't exceed 1500 Euro and their total weight is not more than 50 kg.
The customs fee is equal to 30% of goods' value, but not less than 4 euro per kilogram and is applied to the part of the goods that exceed the above mentioned restrictions.
A person that is 18 years or older is allowed to tax-free import up to 3 liters of alcoholic beverages. The alcoholic beverages are subject to customs fee at rate 10 euro per liter in part, exceeding 3 liters, but not exceeding 5 liters.
Ethyl alcohol is subject to customs fee at the rate 22 euro per liter, if its volume doen't exceed 5 liters.
A person is allowed to import free-of-charge up to 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars (cigarilles) or 250 grams of tabacco or all above mentioned goods, if their total weight don't exceed 250 grams.
The legacy got beyond the Customs Union is allowed to be imported free-of-charge, if it is for personal use and related legacy documents are presented.

Prohibited to import:
  • any kind of weapons and ordnance parts;
  • drugs and psychotropic pharmacy as well as means for smoking opium and hashish;
  • printed/audio/video materials and other media that could be potentially dangerous for the national security, people health and morality;
  • other subjects in accordance to Russian legislation.

    These goods must be immediately moved from the country or confiscated in cases defined by the law.

    Export of goods and money from Russia

    In accordance to the agreement of 05.10.2010, the cash or/and travelers cheques are mandatory for customs declaration if their total value exceeds 10000 USD.
    If the total value doesn't exceed 10000 USD they may be declared optionally.
    All money tools except travelers cheques are mandatory for customs declaration regardless of their value.

    A person is allowed to export free-of-charge goods provided that:
  • they are not for the commercial use and;
  • their total value doesn't exceed 10000 USD.
    If the value of goods for non-commercial use exceeds 10000 USD, the surplus may be treated in accordance to common taxing procedures.

    Regulations of accommodation in Moscow

    Any foreigner must be registered at the site of his stay within Russia. This means that he or somebody on his behalf must inform the immigration authorities about the exact address of his host.
    The foreigner must be registered not later than in three days after his arrival. If the foreigner stays at a hotel, a receiving party (hotel administrator) must inform the immigration authorities within 24 hours on his arrival. The receiving party must fill in the arrival notification and post it to the immigration authorities. A special tear-off part of this notification (notification card) is filled in at the same time and given to the foreigner. The guest must be ready to present this notification card on police or immigration authorities request wherever he is requested. A guest must present to the receiving party his identity card and immigration card.

    In case the notification card is lost or corrupted, the foreigner has to address the local immigration authorities office, where he was registered, and submit the special application form for the getting the notification card's dublicate. The accident circumstances should be carefully stated. After verification, the foreigner is given a dublicate within three business days.
    Foreigners must stay in the Russian Federation not more than it is stated in entrance visa. The citizens of states that have a special "visa-free" agreement with Russia must stay not more than 90 days.
