The program package PPLN has been developed for calculation of
non-stationary flows in complex pipelines using in pneumatic control
systems, in systems of breakdown equipment, in steam-pipes of power
plants (including atomic power stations). The purpose of calculations
is to define the influence of construction parameters on operating
speed and synchronous characteristics for achieving harmony in work of
a control system, to define the dynamic loading in a pipeline under
breakdown situations, to simulate the operation of executive elements
(pistons and valves) and also to define frequency characteristics of
transient processes in the pipeline.
The package consist of computation modules permitting to calculate the
flow parameters at any instant of time in the following pipeline
elements: pipe, branching, local drag of different type (hydraulic, pipe
bending, washer, steel framework), receiver, valve; the drag coefficients
being taken from reference books. For the every given system of
pipelines a controlling program is worked out which realizes the
computation of all pipeline elements in a given sequence. A perfect
gas or superheated steam or saturated steam with condensation or real
gas taken into account can be considered as a work body. The
computation algorithm is based on the Godunov difference scheme. The
package can be employed for a wide range of pressure, temperature and
velocity of a gas.
The programming complex is realized in FORTRAN and can be used
in IBM PC. It is supplyed also by the service programs for
input and output data processing (the calculation of required
characteristics and their graphic interpretation).
