"MAGISTRAL"
- is the software tool to analyze the communication network.
It is also build-in
special data base, capable map support system, system of
network information visualization. All these are managed
in framework of the multywindows integrated environment.
The main goal is to give the convenient and reliable means
for keeping, looking, proceessing and correction of real network
information. As a rule, this information have great
dimensions and very complex structure. The essential part of the
package is manifold tools for convenient representation of the
condition and inside structure of network's elements (form,
schemes, tables, maps). The main signatures used satisfy the
state standards.
SOFTWARE PACKAGE INCLUDES
original object oriented
network data base, which is characterized by high
speed performance of main operations (searching, selection,
sorting) when the information volume is about
5--7 Ìb (about
10000--20000 records). The hierarchical structure of forms allows
to find quickly the information concerning any network object.
The using of extended patterns provides the selection of
records by the full set of fields simultaneously. Wide using
of 'hot keys' makes the exploitation quick and convenient.
Package have high degree of reliability. In particular, it can be
used in special mode to avoid accidental changes.
high performance map supporting system,
that allows user to choose arbitrarily the list of geographic layers
(in part, hydrography, frontiers of regions, areas and republics)
, to define the palette, to change the scale.
Problems of managing the screen are solved efficiently.
The plenty of geographic objects is chosen automatically without
dependence on the current scale; it excludes the situations the
screen is overloaded by the information.
the subsystem of visualization
of network data. All the objects are put on the
map by pictograms and colors reflecting their parameters.
List of parameters to visualize is elected by user himself;
he have an opportunity to point whether the names of towns
or codes of trunk lines and nodes are typed near
corresponding objects. The special means is created for the
more complicated objects,- nodes and trunk lines. This is
structure scheme which ascribes the object itself and its
interconnection with adjacent elements: telephone network
directions, links of trunk lines and nodes. Vast menu allows
to change widely level of detail of scheme.
All subsystems are naturally included into
the united multywindows integrated environment,
that supports the independent settings of regimes in different
windows, an ability of arbitrary changing of their dimensions and
location, abilities of sorting, hiding and showing again on the screen.
All actions may be performed using 'mouse'-device. The
principles of dialogue are not too far from these in MS-Windows.
CURRENT VERSION ALLOWS
keep and reflect up to 30000 records for every type
of network's elements (trunk lines, nodes, transmission
system, cable types etc.);
reflect the network data in all around CIS;
convert into and from ASCII format;
output entire information, concerned to any object at
any moment of dialogue : in forms, tables,
structural schemes, on geographical map;
print the listings of forms, tables, schemes and
maps. Type for printing can be booked by user himself.
DEMANDS FOR USING THE PROGRAM
IBM-compatible personal computer XT/AT with follows type of monitor : EGA, VGA
or SVGA;
Any printer for getting hard copies;
Microsoft - compatible mouse;
Operational system MS-DOS version 3.0 or higher, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000 and futher;
and also 512Êb RAM and 3Ìb on hard disk.
THE PROGRESS OF PROGRAM SYSTEM
The system is in process of the development now.
It is expected to be completed by following subsystems and the
elements of graphical representations:
tools for operating the primary zonal and local networks;
subsystem of managing the secondary telephone zone
and local network;
means for processing data, concerned to the linear
tracks and group these;
modules for solving tasks of routing, reconstruction
and development of network.
