About us

Speech Signal Recognition and Processing Division of Computer Center, Academy of Sciences of USSR, was established in 1987. The first head of the Division was Valery Trunin-Donskoy, one of the pioneers in the speech recognition in the USSR. The first research work devoted the recognition of isolated words was performed in the Computer Center in the middle of 60th years.

The main goal of the current Division's efforts in the field is a research of models, methods and algorithms for speech signal processing and recognition, and development of the relevant software prototypes and data corpus.

The Division stuff includes researchers and postgraduate students in applied mathematics, physics and software.

Since 1987 the head of Division is Dr. Vladimir Chuchupal.
